Craig started his career as an apprentice in British Telecom in the 1980s. He cut his teeth in international operations teams and selling telecoms services to Corporate customers so they could reach far flung exotic sounding locations. He was then one of the first employees of Concert Communications, the joint venture between BT and MCI. Craig’s last role at BT was a General Manager of one of their International business divisions.
He then fancied a change of pace so went to work for a small, fast moving alternative network provider, THUS plc. There he was part of the leadership team that built a highly successful competitor to BT which grew to £900M turnover and was ultimately sold to Cable&Wireless. Before that he was Chief Marketing Officer for the EMEA region of Level 3 Communications Inc, where he led his team to deliver double digit revenue growth in a very challenging environment. Most recently he was Chief Commercial Officer at Avanti Communications.
Craig’s approach combines an enquiring engineering mind with marketing flair which he channels through a very practical approach to business transformation. Starting at the sharp end of business instilled in him a belief in hiring great front line staff, empowering them and motivating them through inspirational leadership. He’s passionate about working with clients to maximise the potential of their people and helping them explain to customers how together they can change their world.
Outside of work he’s a proud father of three young children, married and can often be found on a bike, in the swimming pool or standing on the touchline cheering on his boys to score more trys or goals!
