Steve Revill

Steve has been fascinated by business from an early age.

Summoned to the headmaster's office at primary school for selling conkers to his classmates, a commercial mindset was evident throughout his formative years. Running the school bank in the sixth form set him up for a career, which began with a place on the Management Development Programme at Yorkshire Bank.

Four years on, he moved to Manchester to study business at university, and his subsequent 14-year marketing career progressed through roles at Hewlett-Packard, Barclays Bank, RBS and BDO LLP. He is proud to have won awards for initiative and achievement in every company that has employed him.

In recent years, he has held a number of senior management and board level marketing roles, including Head of Strategic Marketing at RBS Invoice Finance, where he first met Matt Crabtree and experienced the Positive Momentum approach to leadership development.

Now a partner with Positive Momentum, his particular specialities include marketing strategy, coaching and skills development. Having been one of the few B2B marketers to be accountable for a new business income target at RBS, Steve hates the 'fluffy' perception of marketing and enjoys helping sales and marketing teams to work better together to increase the return on their combined effort and investment.

Steve is a Chartered Marketer and Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Marketing, and regularly runs sales and marketing training days on the Prince's Trust Enterprise Programme as part of his volunteer role as a Business Mentor.

An avid fan of stand up comedy (including a brief and mostly unsuccessful spell behind the microphone) has taught Steve the importance of not taking himself too seriously - ask him about his best paid gig…just don't tell the tax man!
